MySignpost Launch - Our part in a pioneering initiative

Drum roll please… it's the launch of MySignpost (www.mysignpost.org), a groundbreaking online resource pioneered by our good selves in collaboration with Greengrape Solutions and praised by the UK government.

Greater Merseyside now boasts the North West region's first joined-up digital directory for practitioners of public, private, charity and voluntary provision. It's an innovative meeting place, too, where advisors and employers can provide help and share knowledge 'in work, learning and life'.

The key word for us is 'innovative'. Forgive us for blowing our own trumpet, but we're particularly proud of the way we've steered the project from an initial print concept to a modern and progressive digital solution that sets a new benchmark.

The original commission, via the City Employment Strategy, was a direct response to requests for a centralised directory of training, employment and guidance opportunities available to the 1.5million people who live across the six local authorities of Liverpool, Knowsley, Halton, Wirral, Sefton and St Helens.

Brighter Design has been there since the start, developing the brief in conjunction with Greengrape who mapped and researched South Liverpool followed by the wider Greater Merseyside area.

Launched at Liverpool's splendid St George's Hall, the result is a publicly-accessible website that provides information and help for everything from out-of-school clubs to debt support to housing services. It's a directory, forum, diary, planner, support service and news-feed rolled into one.

That praise from the bigwigs we mentioned? 'The MySignpost project is exactly the kind of initiative that organisations should be involved in,' says Chris Grayling, Government Minister for Employment. 'I'm sure it will prove to be very successful.'
